Q&A: Juan Manuel Lopez!
WBO super bantamweight champion Juan Manuel Lopez (22-0, 20 KOs) opened a lot of eyes this past June with his devastating first round knockout of now former champion Daniel Ponce De Leon (34-2, 30 KOs). The bout which was televised on HBO Championionship Boxing seriously elevated Lopez' popularity in his native Puerto Rico. Though his bout with De Leon was brief Lopez had a very intense training camp in prepartion for the fight. The champion is now back in training for his next fight . Fightnews recently visited with the champion in Caugas, Puerto Rico where he trains. The champion was joined by his wife and five children, who reguarly accompany at the gym. "My family is very important to me and they always support me," stated Lopez, who also spoke about his win over De Leon and a potential unification showdown Israel Vazquez.
